Band 6 Occupational Therapist
Location: Isle of Sheppey – HMP Elmley & HMP Swaleside
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £39,338-£46,962 per annum, dependent on experience

Our wide array of services includes community health care, such as district nursing and speech and language therapy, care for people with learning disabilities and mental health such as psychiatry, nursing and therapies.
The post holder will work across the two prisons and other multi-disciplinary professionals to develop and revise the therapeutic programme and activity plans as necessary to meet the needs of different offender groups.
What will you be doing?
Provide one to one and group interventions and therapeutic programmes in:
· Inpatient Department
· In-call activity as required
· Contribute to the development and delivery of holistic care plans
· Participate in the service wide health promotion, education programme and activities
· Work to support pre-release and continuing care plans
· To manage a clinical caseload
· To support the development of evidence-based OT practice
· To contribute to service development
· To participate in research/audit activities
· To supervise the work of junior staff and students
· Contribute to and carry out risk assessment and management plans
· To provide specialist OT advice
· To work independently without direct supervision
What do you need?
· Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy
· UK HCPC Registration
· CPPD portfolio containing evidence of active involvement of CPPD activities
· Extensive experience as an Occupational Therapist including mental health experience
· Extensive clinical experience including individual and group work
· Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
