Head of Paraplanning

We at Simpson Judge are working with a well-renowned client based in Leamington Spa who are looking to bring in an experienced paraplanner to oversee and direct the paraplanning team, guaranteeing the provision of top-notch financial planning assistance to both advisers and clients. This position demands robust technical expertise, effective leadership skills, and a dedication to upholding the highest levels of compliance and efficiency.
Technical Responsibilities
1. Guide, nurture, and mentor the paraplanning team to promote ongoing professional growth and excellence in performance.
2. Supervise the creation of high-quality suitability reports, research, and financial planning analyses in line with our compliance protocols and software.
3. Streamline and enhance processes to boost team efficiency and service quality.
4. Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and internal standards.
5. Collaborate with financial advisers to reinforce client recommendations and financial strategies.
6. Manage task distribution within the team to guarantee timely project completion.
7. Stay informed on changes in legislation, financial products, and industry best practices.
8. Assist in developing and implementing technology solutions to improve paraplanning efficiency.
9. Offer technical expertise and advice on intricate financial planning matters.
Key Skills and Experience
1. A Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent) is required; while Chartered status or progress toward it is preferred, it is not mandatory. The company will offer support to help achieve this qualification.
2. Significant experience in paraplanning, combined with a solid technical understanding of financial planning and products.
3. Proven experience in managing and developing a team.
4. Deep knowledge of compliance, regulatory standards, and financial planning principles.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities, enabling effective collaboration with advisers and other stakeholders.
6. Ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
8. Proficient in financial planning software and tools.
