A highly respected and ever growing Engninering company within the Utilities industry are now looking birng a Trainee Electrician onbaord due to extensive growth.
You will be offered a salary of up to £25,000 DOE, along with exciting, long-term progression opportunities.
You will be fully trained with the view of having a successgul career as an Electrical Fitter with the business.
Key duties:
* To assist where required in the dismantling, cleaning & re-assembly & wiring of equipment returned for refurbishment work.
* To complete any relevant in-house training to be conducted within the Company’s premises and workshops. Attend external training as necessary.
* Test electrical equipment and parts for continuity, resistance, current, voltage and record all this information onto relevant documents.
* Read and interpret various drawings such as electrical schematic, line wiring drawings and layout drawings and work following these.
* Under direct supervision, assist in carrying out investigation work on electrical failures of equipment which may be returned from sites to workshop under the direct supervision of a competent person.
* Under direct supervision, assist skilled Electrician with any day to day duties as necessary
Candidate requirements:
* Recognised qualification in electrical wiring regulations, 18th edition preferred.
* Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a range of intellectual and practical problems.
* Ability to make decisions requiring the use of a variety of variables in standard situations.
* Computer Skills: Competency in Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs would be an advantage;
* Ability to read and understand specification, fabrication, assembly, and standard engineering drawings;
* Ideally be able to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and layout drawings – although training will be given
