Most of our development work is undertaken in Edinburgh, with several engineers working remotely from other countries. You will be based in our friendly new office in central Edinburgh. Working hours are flexible and hybrid working will be available. We follow a scrum process with small, highly collaborative squads focused on delivery.
We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join one of our Product Squads working on a web application that provides digital workspaces to high-profile clients. You will be joining a department that covers the end-to-end of development from design through to testing, deployment, and support.
What you'll be doing
1. Gathering requirements from in-house subject matter experts and Product Owners to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software and applications.
2. Working with the senior engineering team to design and implement new capabilities within the product.
3. Conducting design reviews on existing code with a view to identifying ways to improve performance, security, robustness and maintainability.
4. Ensuring new software meets requirements of quality, security and performance.
Requirements
What we're looking for in you
1. 7+ years’ experience.
2. Strong knowledge of software design principles and micro-services architectures.
3. Strong record of delivering software solutions.
4. Strong communication skills.
5. Desire to mentor other developers.
6. Familiarity with Dev Ops processes and Kubernetes are desirable.
7. Experience with Git, Slack, Jira, and Drone are all beneficial.
8. Familiarity with Linux environments.
