Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Education Support Officer to join Shropshire Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Job Purpose: The Inclusion Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable children and young people to achieve positive educational outcomes. Working as part of the Virtual School and Access to Education team, the postholder will engage with schools, families, and stakeholders to promote inclusion, attendance, and access to education. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with schools and families to support the education and inclusion of vulnerable learners. Provide solution-focused support for cases relating to admissions, attendance, and special educational needs. Deliver training sessions to school staff and stakeholders on inclusion best practices. Maintain and update systems for tracking and reporting on learner progress. Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and data protection policies. Contribute to the overall goals of the Virtual School and Access to Education service. Skills & Experience Required: ✔ Experience in education, inclusion, or pupil support services. ✔ Strong relationship-building skills with schools, families, and external partners. ✔ Knowledge of policies related to attendance, admissions, and special educational needs. ✔ Ability to analyze and implement solutions for educational barriers. ✔ Excellent communication and training delivery skills. Working Arrangements: Hybrid role with a primary base at Shirehall, regular remote working, and travel across Shropshire.
