REED are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a fast-paced commercial construction business, specialising in the residential groundworks sector. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to build on their previous experience and develop their career within their Accounts department, reporting into the Group Financial Controller. The successful candidate will support a variety of accounting functions, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, intercompany charges, and reconciliations. Accounts Assistant Location: Ringwood, Hampshire Job Type: Full-time: 8am - 4pm (flexibility to start later at 9am and finish at 4pm) Up to £32,000 per annum (FTE) Day to Day of the role: Assist with purchase ledger invoice checking, entering, and monthly reconciliation of statements. Identify intercompany cross-charges and raise necessary invoices. Code and enter expenditure for company credit cards. Provide analysis reports and supplementary documentation to Managers and Directors. Record and store asset purchase and disposal information. Take an active role in our transition to new software in late 2024. Assist with month-end closures and supply of year-end information to external Auditors. Required Skills & Qualifications: General accounts experience is essential. Part Qualified AAT / AAT Qualified or similar is required. Experience with Sage50 Accounts software is an advantage. Competence in Excel. Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlines. Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
