The Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Division (EPRR) is a key Division within the Directorate for Chief Operating Officer NHS Scotland (DCOO). The Delivery & Assurance Unit is one half of the EPRR Division. EPRR play an important role in ensuring NHSScotland Health Boards are prepared to deal with a wide range of incidents as well as providing up to date accurate information to Ministers and SGoRR when necessary. While located in the Directorate for Chief Operating Officer NHS Scotland, you will work across Health & Social Care Directorates and with other portfolio areas across Scottish Government. Regular engagement with stakeholders, including other Devolved Administrations and government departments across the UK nations, will be required. This role supports a priority programme of work within the Delivery & Assurance Unit within EPRR, to promote and develop resilience and emergency preparedness across NHS Scotland and secure the provision of healthcare when the NHS experiences severe pressure through major incidents and/or adverse events. Responsibilities Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders such as Health Board resilience leads to identify opportunities and mitigate risks. Support the continuous improvement of internal and external reporting and assurance processes through formal debrief processes and implementing identified lessons. Develop and maintain project management tools including project plans, risk and issues log, key decisions logs, etc. Provide wider corporate and business support such as media requests, Ministerial correspondence; PQ’s, FOI, etc to the Division as required. Support incident response, including through developing internal incident response policy and process, and participate in the Divisional Out-of-Hour’s emergency on-call rota. Divisional BCLO responsibilities including management of CBRN and pandemic procurement finance programmes. Engagement with other policy teams within SG on cross-cutting issues such as CONTEST (counter terrorism); and humanitarian aid from a health lens. Line management and leadership colleagues, with a focus on development of their skillsets. In line with our current way of working, our team follows a Scottish Government hybrid working approach, where colleagues use a mix of office based and remote working (working from home) depending on the requirements of the role and personal circumstances. You are expected to attend SAH in person at least one day per week.
