About the role
We are hiring an Engineering Team Leader at our Ossett site to lead a team of 3 engineers on shift. This hands-on role involves managing and participating in all aspects of daily maintenance, working a 12-hour shift pattern on days and nights, with overtime available.
Responsibilities
1. Leadership:
* Collaborate with Production Team Leads/Managers to deliver high-quality engineering support aligned with operational targets.
* Supervise and coordinate engineering activities within the team.
* Achieve KPIs related to equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance.
* Coach and develop team members on safety and fault diagnosis.
* Plan and allocate resources efficiently.
* Motivate staff, manage performance, and identify development needs.
* Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
* Support other departments as needed and manage non-conformance processes.
1. Hands-on duties:
* Attend to reactive maintenance and assist in developing PPM systems.
* Perform fault diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance of machinery.
* Coordinate with production staff to communicate issues.
* Ensure high equipment availability and conduct effective root cause analysis.
* Manage tools, stores, and equipment.
Requirements for success
We seek candidates with relevant experience and the right competencies, including:
* Experience in an FMCG environment.
* Apprenticeship or qualification in electrical engineering (HND/HNC/BTech or equivalent).
* Strong fault-finding skills, PLC experience desirable.
* Leadership experience is a plus but not mandatory.
