Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester Technician
1. Location: Liverpool
2. Salary: Competitive, Depending on Experience, will pay for the right candidate
3. Working Hours: Full-Time 40 hours covering 08:30-17:30 Mon to Sat
Join our client, a leading fast-fit group in Liverpool, renowned for delivering exceptional automotive services. They are committed to excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction, and they are looking for a dedicated Senior Technician to lead their workshop team.
The Senior Workshop Technician is a pivotal role, responsible for overseeing daily workshop operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires advanced technical skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to manage and mentor a team of technicians and testers. The Senior Technician will collaborate closely with the Customer Services Advisor to optimise workflows and ensure outstanding customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Mentoring:
4. Lead, mentor, and support a team of technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
5. Accountable for overall manpower planning and efficient deployment of the workshop team.
6. Create and manage staff rotas to maintain high levels of competence, efficiency, and productivity.
Workflow Management:
7. Assign tasks and manage workflow to ensure timely and efficient completion of all jobs, with a focus on key components such as cambelts and clutches.
8. Collaborate closely with the Customer Services Advisor to meet deadlines and optimise customer satisfaction.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
9. Ensure all work is performed to the highest standards, adhering to health and safety regulations.
10. Inspect and quality check completed work to meet required standards and specifications.
11. Maintain complete MOT compliance at all times.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
12. Monitor and manage inventory, ordering parts and supplies as necessary.
13. Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
14. Manage all stock requirements in line with budgets and company expectations, including facilitating audits
Key Requirements:
15. Level 3 in Automotive Mechanics
16. Previous experience with heavier Service work such as Cam belts & Clutches
17. Previous experience within a Service Centre
