Roles and Responsibilities
Event Production and Technical Leadership:
1. Serve as the Technical Director, Lead Video Engineer, or Technical Production Manager, depending on the event requirements.
2. Oversee the setup, configuration, and operation of event production spaces.
3. Act as the primary point of contact for all audio, video, and broadcast production needs.
4. Collaborate with team members to execute pre-show and live production elements.
Pre-Event Preparation:
1. Attend pre-show production meetings to review roles, responsibilities, and show details.
2. Follow run-of-show documents to ensure proper event flow and execution.
3. Conduct thorough testing of all show playback elements for accuracy.
Technical Operations:
1. Ensure all AV equipment, including switchers, graphics, mixers, microphones, and related gear, is fully functional.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve audio, video, and networking signal flow issues.
3. Monitor and maintain high production standards during events.
Post-Event Responsibilities:
1. Reset event spaces to pre-production standards.
2. Document and escalate any equipment failures using the AV team’s ticketing system.
3. Assist with inventory management and quality control for client-owned equipment.
Qualifications and Skills
Technical Expertise:
1. Proficient in audio, video, and networking signal flow troubleshooting.
2. Experience with live and hybrid events using platforms like Google Meet, Zoom, and YouTube Livestream.
3. Familiarity with event tools such as QLab, Playback Pro, and Bitfocus Companion/Streamdeck.
4. Skilled in operating MacOS, Windows, Chrome OS, and GSuite for Business.
5. Experience with Google Slides, Slido, and clicker systems for presentations.
6. Understanding of networking technology and video transmission over networks.
Event Production Experience:
1. Strong knowledge of live event operations with multiple cues and high production value.
2. Ability to step into crewed/operator positions as needed (e.g., V1, V2, Lighting, Playback).
3. Proven experience managing vendors, suppliers, and integrators to meet event objectives.
