Main duties of the job
Exciting opportunity for procurement assistant to join a fast-paced and dynamic team at the Outpatient Pharmacy, George Elliot Hospital. A procurement assistant plays a key role in their ability to source and procure necessary medications to meet patient needs whilst optimising costs and supply chain management. Ensuring efficient and high-quality customer experience is maintained to strive to deliver a safe, effective and caring service for patients and other service users.

SWFT Clinical Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT). The company provides a number of services such as outpatient pharmacy facilities at Warwick and Stratford and Nuneaton hospitals; estates and facilities management at Stratford hospital, Acorn House and Lillington Health Hub; private patient service and consultancy services to NHS Trusts.
Job responsibilities
1. Undertakes the day-to-day work of the Pharmacy, which will include releasing orders, receiving & checking off stock.
2. Works alongside procurement lead to chase missing orders, to-follows, owing items and monitor stock shortages.
3. Ensures that paperwork is completed accurately and on time, communicates issues as appropriate, and attends meetings as required.
4. Offers suggestions to improve the way we work utilising best practices.
5. Being made accountable for certain aspects of the role at the request of the line Manager.
6. Maintains excellent working relationships and good communications with patients and Trust employees. Contributes to the teamwork ethic so enabling the best possible service and care to patients.
7. Ensures confidentiality of commercial and clinical information, which may relate to customers, staff, Company policies, prices, business information; and takes account of requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations, and Freedom of Information legislation.
8. Manages their own personal training and development.
9. Any other relevant duties and training requirements at the request of the line Manager.
10. Adheres to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, and all other relevant legislation.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE at C grade or above in Maths and English.
Experience
* Previous outpatient pharmacy experience.
* Previous hospital pharmacy experience.
* Medical consumables product knowledge.
* Knowledge of Pharmacy ordering and stock Management systems incl. JAC.
* Supply chain knowledge.
Skills
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.).

* Able to work well in a team.
* Ability to work calmly and competently under pressure and achieve deadlines, escalating issues as required.
* Confident and articulate.
* Self-motivated and able to prioritise work to achieve deadlines without compromising quality.
* Able to communicate well with internal and external colleagues.
Other
* Requirement to lift and handle boxes of varying shapes, sizes and weights during the process of stock reads and put - away.
