Commercial Finance Manager – Retail Group - Bury St. Edmunds (Hybrid) – Up to £45k

The commercial finance manager will ensure that the company's financial health is robust and that strategic decisions are informed by thorough financial analysis. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the business's financial future and ensuring its operational and financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
2. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
3. Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
4. Conduct variance analysis to understand performance drivers and provide actionable insights.
5. Business Partnering:
6. Collaborate with department heads and senior management to drive financial performance.
7. Provide financial advice and support to various business units, including marketing, sales, and operations.
8. Work closely with the sales team to analyse customer profitability and product margins.
9. Reporting & Analytics:
10. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for executive management and the board of directors.
11. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance.
12. Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.
13. Financial Control & Compliance:
14. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies.
15. Oversee the preparation of financial statements and coordinate audits.
16. Strategic Initiatives:
17. Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration processes.
18. Support financial projects to drive cost optimization and process improvements.
19. Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with business operations.
The successful candidate:
20. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
21. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the retail industry.
22. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
23. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
24. Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
25. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
26. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
