Coleman James are working with a Construction company that offers a wide range of services to the groundworks and construction industry across the North East and North Yorkshire.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Groundworks Site Foreman/Manager to oversee and manage groundworks operations on-site. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a strong background in civil engineering and groundworks, looking to join a reputable company with ongoing projects.
Role Description:
As the Groundworks Site Foreman/Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
1. Overseeing Health & Safety and quality standards on site, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards.
2. Supervising site personnel and managing day-to-day activities on-site.
3. Planning the daily and weekly works, coordinating resources, and working closely with the Contracts Manager.
4. Implementing short-term programmes and effectively communicating them to site personnel.
5. Recording site activities and resource use, including daily diaries, allocation sheets, daywork sheets, photographs, and drawing mark-ups.
6. Managing materials on site, including material requests/call-offs, collating delivery tickets, and general on-site material management.
7. Managing permits and setting out requests/call-offs, as well as planning and organising daily briefings.
8. Conducting RAMS briefings and providing input to the Contracts Manager for RAMS preparation/updates.
9. Performing regular Health & Safety inspections to ensure compliance.
10. Delivering toolbox talks to the site team.
11. Ensuring all daily/weekly site safety and quality paperwork is completed, collated, and filed correctly.
12. Attending site meetings and liaising daily with the main contractor's personnel.
13. Recording potential changes, instructions, and delays, and reporting them to the Project Manager/Operations Supervisor.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Strong knowledge and experience in civil engineering and groundworks.
2. Proven ability to supervise site activities and manage a team effectively.
3. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
4. Ability to oversee and manage Health & Safety standards on-site.
5. Experience with planning and coordinating site works and resources.
6. Familiarity with site documentation such as daily diaries, resource allocation sheets, and material management.
7. Strong understanding of RAMS and experience with site safety paperwork.
8. Ability to maintain good working relationships with main contractors and other stakeholders.
9. A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
