We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Implementation Manager. Role purpose: In May 2024, HSBC Group committed a multi-year plan to the PRA that will elevate model risk management governance standards and practices to new SS1/23 regulations by December 2027. The Wholesale businesses are accountable for undertaking large scale remediation and new standard alignment as per rolling deadlines from Q1 2025 2027 across all SS1/23 sub-principles where they are listed as model owners. This involves driving and embedding large-scale changes to identification, development, tiering, monitoring and governance infrastructure to existing model risk management processes across all Regions (at frontline, middle office and global). The Implementation Manager role will sit within the global central programme team and will play a pivotal role in coordinating and scaling existing capability to bring Wholesale within compliance by 2027. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Create and embed the necessary change transformation framework requirements across the programme value streams, adhering to the respective requirements of numerous regulatory governance forums Support Wholesale programme SMEs to ensure the timely delivery of all remedial actions per regulatory timeline Manage risks and issues, and coordinate milestone plans and tracking for relevant reporting functions Embed financial cost control, set up and manage required governance committees, and resolve ad-hoc issues as they arise which may adversely affect the programme Co-ordinate messaging and drive awareness across Wholesale model community on all SS1/23 changes and new model risk management activities Support the operational requirements of the technology infrastructure build out Engage with Group-wide SS1/23 Programme regarding Board submissions and Global/Regional ExCo updates Work with Wholesale SMEs and Group to prepare relevant Wholesale training materials and rollout plan for new policies and processes, ensuring all stakeholders complete relevant training Support Wholesale SS1/23 OpCo / SteerCo / Model Community Awareness Sessions key approval and communication channels with accountable execs, regional model management teams and wider model owner community across businesses and partner functions Provide support to the Accountable Execs as required, influencing stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the overall Programme and its delivery partners Opportunity to support specific value-stream deliverables and/or lead workstreams to drive compliance at a country / regional / global basis across all business and product lines. Role Context: Understanding of PRA SS1/23 Model Risk Management regulations role holder can learn on job Incumbent needs to adapt to changes readily. The role holder must have an inquisitive mind and be able to show leadership in an unstructured environment. Keeping up to date with changes in the regulatory requirements, financial services industry, and in the HSBC Group, is also a necessity. Experience / Knowledge: Good understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes and objectives. Change Management and Programme management experience Understanding of digital concepts, strategies and developments as they apply within financial services Previous financial services experience Prior experience in functional/business management preferred, working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environments. Strong analytical background and proven ability in analytical rigor, including being able to contextualize data into business activities and conclusions; and Exposure of successfully designing and implementing global / regional change initiatives, operationalising policies and procedures. Strong relationship management and influencing skills, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels. Developed management skills, including managing a wide range of projects. Ability to motivate other managers and staff, employing appropriate management / influencing styles. High level of drive and motivation to ensure successful delivery of complex transformational initiatives; and Execution orientated with an ability to leverage resources available to achieve goals.
