Job summary DIRECTORATE OF GENERAL MEDICINE Senior Training Fellow Diabetes & Endocrinology (General Medicine) This post is not recognised as a formal training slot. The post-holder will work with the diabetes/general medicineand endocrinology team to provide diabetes & endocrinology/ general medicines serviceto a catchment population across Staffordshire, Leek Moorlands and North Shropshire. Main duties of the job The post-holder will work across two Diabetes & Endocrinology / General Medicine wards, in conjunction with another SHO and the consultant who provides cover to the ward.Participation in out-of-hours-work and weekend ward rounds is required as part of this post.The post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the patients on the ward, the majority of whom will have had a period on another hospital ward prior to transfer to Diabetes & Endocrinology / General Medicine.The consultant facilitates a morning ward Round with a requirement to work towards prompt discharges, aiming for Home before Lunch.
