Salary: £37,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, mainly 9am to 5pm, with flexibility required for late shifts (average once per week), 13 contracted sleeps per year, occasional weekends & overtime
Emergency On Call: One week in six

About the role
Beaufort Care Group are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager for our children’s home in Fair Oak, Eastleigh. This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful applicant to be part of a growing business, whilst making a positive difference in our children’s lives.
As the Deputy Manager you will support the Registered Manager in leading a team of Childcare Practitioners to promote the safeguarding of children and support their educational, physical, social and emotional development. You will be responsible for good home management, timely administration and record keeping, ensuring we maintain high standards in line with Ofsted regulations and compliance.
In addition, the Deputy Manager will:
• Work with internal and external partners to support the health, development, and well-being of the children.
• Lead team consultations and ensure the children’s voices are heard in planning and decision-making.
• Collaborate with the Registered Manager to assess team performance and implement improvements.
• Role-model best practice and provide crisis intervention support to the team.
• Develop, review, and report on placement plans to meet every child’s evolving and individual needs.
• Maintain daily routines and manage resources effectively, escalating needs to the Registered Manager.
• Assist with policy implementation, Ofsted preparation, and compliance with regulations.
• Foster a supportive, open culture, addressing concerns and complaints promptly.
• Provide on-call support on the roster.
About you
To join us as the Deputy Manager you will demonstrate at least 2-years’ experience in a team leader or supervisory role within residential childcare, with a sound working knowledge of safeguarding children, Ofsted regulations, Quality Standards and Children’s Home Regulations 2015.
You must be qualified to NVQ Level 3 / 4 in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (or equivalent).
You’ll have extensive experience of working with children and young people between the ages of 06-18 who exhibit emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). Knowledge of PACE, attachment theory and play therapy is advantageous.
Your role will demand exceptional communication skills and a high standard of English, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships at all levels both within the home setting and with outside agencies, head office and other stakeholders.
To be successful, you will build an excellent team dynamic, supporting the Registered Manager to commission the new home; role modelling excellent behaviours and applying sound judgement and rationale based on your experience and knowledge of the sector.
Confident in performing record keeping and administration tasks, using MS Office and other IT systems.
Essential must haves
A valid UK driving licence and proximity to Fair Oak, Eastleigh. A qualification to a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People or equivalent.
