About the job
The Civil Construction Manager will sit within the Operations Support Function and report directly to the Civil Manager. This role will manage civil construction projects related to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Independent Connection Provider (ICP) works, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
The Civil Construction Manager must have significant experience in managing civil construction projects within the energy sector and must be adept at coordinating with various stakeholders.
What does the role entail?
1. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of BESS and ICP civil construction projects, ensuring they meet the needs of the business.
2. Process Development: Develop and implement construction processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
3. Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve construction processes, identifying opportunities for optimisation and implementing best practices.
4. Compliance: Ensure all construction processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Training: Provide training and support to staff on construction processes and safety protocols.
6. Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of construction quality and accuracy.
7. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to the Civil Manager on project performance and utilisation.
8. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including project teams, clients, and contractors.
9. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to construction projects and processes.
10. Support: Provide ongoing support to the Operations Support Function and other departments as needed.
What do you need to be considered?
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction management within the energy sector, specifically BESS and ICP works.
* Significant experience with managing civil construction projects related to energy storage and connection systems.
* Proven track record of developing and continuously improving construction processes.
* Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
* Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
