SEND Teaching Assistant – Support Students with SEND and SEMH Job Title SEND Teaching Assistant Salary £23,000 per annum School Type Secondary Location B36 Area Hours Full-Time, 32.5 hours per week, Temporary or Permanent Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in the B36 area. This role will involve providing vital support to students with a range of special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, helping them to engage with learning and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and group support for students with SEND and SEMH needs Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to deliver targeted interventions Assist with classroom management and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment Help students to develop social skills, resilience, and independence Monitor and report on student progress and support needs Required Experience Experience supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs is highly desirable Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a school setting Strong communication, teamwork, and behaviour management skills A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting young people About Milestone Milestone Education is a committed Equal Opportunities Employer and will not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation.
