The Central and North West Midlands (C& NWM) have been awarded funding as part of the NIHR's National Commercial Research Delivery Centre Programme (CRDC). The CRDC, hosted by Birmingham Women's and Children's, will establish centres of excellence across C& NWM and will be solely dedicated to delivering commercial research, offering additional commercial research delivery capacity to existing health and care organisations. The C& NWM CRDC will also respond to the five pillars of the UK Clinical Research Delivery Vision: clinical research embedded in the NHS, patient-centred research, streamlined, efficient and innovative research, research enabled by data and digital tools, and a sustainable and supported research workforce.
This role will be key to facilitating every aspect of the programme, inclusive of bringing together the correct expertise from across the C& NWM partnership to support the programme and reach the intended targets.
The post holder must have a clear understanding of and operational experience with the governance surrounding commercial research (e.g. GDPR, Information Governance, ethical & regulatory frameworks), and research objectives.
The post holder will have previous line management experience and a track record of successfully managing and delivering research projects.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will be based within the Research and Development team but will be part of the senior leadership team for the C& NWM CRDC and will link in with the Director and Deputy Directors of the programme.
