We have been awarded the “Most Loved Workplace”! At Metro Bank, people come first – our culture is all about bringing the best out in our colleagues, and making sure everyone feels valued, respected, seen and included. We strongly believe in a diverse and inclusive workplace and to find the very best person for the job, we always look across a wide range of diverse communities.
What you will do:
1. Manage and prioritise the Bank’s product roadmap in the delivery of initiatives and projects alongside ongoing iterations and smaller changes.
2. Be responsible for defining and delivering the Metro Bank Change methodology, working in a matrix environment and supporting continuous improvement.
3. Work closely with ExCo to derive the key strategic priorities and drive a culture of prioritising from these across all layers of the business – everyone knows what success is within the bank and its KPIs.
4. Provide ongoing updates and transparency on how we are delivering value across our change functions – includes benefit realisation, holding value streams to account and reporting for ExCo and Board on a continuous basis.
5. Ensure your team is working closely with Compliance functions (including Conduct Risk, Risk and FinCrime) to effectively manage risk in the successful delivery of change.
6. Collaborate closely and influence teams across the bank to ensure communication is clear and transparent.
7. Make sure teams are thriving within an Agile environment and challenging themselves to deliver value as quickly and safely as possible.
8. Inspire a culture that wants to deliver quickly and with the customer/end user at the heart of everything we do while driving ongoing improvements and expertise in market, customer and technology trends to help build better products.
9. Promote and expand our digital ways-of-working (e.g. agile methodologies), guiding ongoing change rather than large scale projects – using Beta launches and product demos.
10. Line management of multiple teams including product managers and business analysts.
And... we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank, and have the courage to call out any concerns.
What you will need:
1. Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders.
2. Experience in building roadmaps across multiple domains to deliver a quality end-to-end customer experience.
3. Good knowledge of technology including building APIs, UI journeys and innovations including distributed services.
4. Background in managing complex relationships and stakeholders up to ExCo level, to prioritise the roadmap.
5. Inspire and enable the team to have the knowledge and passion for building products which can handle significant volumes without impacting performance, alongside ensuring they are scalable to meet the future needs of the business.
6. Can provide tools and objectives to drive our customer understanding, their pain points and our opportunities to build great experiences.
7. You need to be a strong leader with a positive attitude to help promote the benefits of working as a team across multiple departments.
8. Understand the risks & responsibilities of working in a Senior Management Function as this is a certified role.
9. Certified as an AGILE or SAFE practitioner.
Our promise to you…
1. We believe in “one in, one up” at Metro Bank, growing our own and promoting from within. That is why we are looking for YOU! An AMAZEING colleague to move into this FANtastic new role!
2. We will make sure that you are well-rewarded by providing you with a competitive salary, discretionary annual bonus, and a wide range of benefits, including generous holiday allowance, attractive pension scheme, healthcare, life assurance, and a number of colleague discounts!
3. We will give you the training to ensure you succeed in your role and plenty of internal opportunities to progress your career (around 40% of our recruitment comes from internal promotions!).
4. We are also all about balance so most of our jobs offer the opportunity for hybrid working built around your role and home life, wherever possible.
Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box. We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked. So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Please note that sometimes we may close a job earlier for applications if we are inundated with amazing candidates.. Good luck!
