Connect2SocialWork are looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to work in a community based OT team in Slough.
The role is to identify the needs of the service users and carers withing the context of their own homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the issue and safe use of Assistive Technology and standard disability equipment, adhering to the appropriate service policies. You will also manage your own personal caseload, including simple major adaptations referrals and standard equipment provision.
There is an opportunity to develop skills in social care assessments and learn from OTs.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Confident with IT processes and applications
· excellent customer care skills.
· Experience working in an OT team - at least 2-3 years
· Experience of diffusing conflict and complaints
· Experience of working with people of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds
· Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car on a daily basis
· Physically capable of carrying, transporting and fitting equipment in people's homes
· Educated to GCSE /A level / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
PAY AND WORKING HOURS:
· 37 hours per week
· Pay rate: £15.15per hour
