Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk Location: Colchester Salary: £23,000 - £27,000 per annum Contract Type: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract About the Role Antony James Recruitment Ltd are working with a growing commercial business based in Colchester in recruiting an Accounts Payable Clerk on a 6-month fixed-term contract. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a key role in managing supplier accounts, processing invoices accurately and efficiently, and supporting the finance team in maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Process a high volume of purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly. Prepare and process payment runs, including BACS and CHAPS payments. Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is filed appropriately. Handle supplier queries in a professional and timely manner, building strong working relationships. Assist with month-end processes, including accruals and prepayments relating to accounts payable. Support the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required. Skills and Experience Required: Proven experience in an accounts payable role, ideally within a commercial environment. Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and procedures. Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is advantageous. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
