Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join a friendly team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants in a 2 form entry Primary School in the Barry area. The role will consist of supporting children in the Year 1 and Year 2 class, working on a 1:1 basis and helping the teacher with general classroom support and intervention work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children on a 1:1 basis with their learning needs, offering tailored assistance.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans and activities.
- Provide guidance and encouragement to help students build confidence and independence.
- Assist with the development and delivery of specific learning strategies for individual students.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback as required.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
- Work collaboratively with other teaching staff, support staff, and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for all children.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by children requiring additional support with their learning.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting diverse learners.
- Strong communication skills, both with children and adults.
- A commitment to promoting the inclusion and well-being of all students.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
- A good understanding of primary education and the curriculum.
