As the Head of Technical for our Seafood cluster, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food safety, legality, and quality priorities within our Seafood operational 'cluster'. In this pivotal role, you'll be the bridge between our Operations, Technical Director, and wider Technical/NPD teams, driving technical excellence and ensuring seamless collaboration across departments. As the primary Technical contact for our customers and industry authorities, you'll play a critical role in building strong relationships and maintaining our reputation for quality.
* Guide the Seafood Cluster using diligent, independent judgment, and a values-led approach, fostering a culture of Food Safety & Quality.
* Inspire and develop the Technical team across our Seafood estate, ensuring alignment with our values and customer expectations.
* Drive customer satisfaction and audit success, ensuring compliance with established policies across the cluster.
* KPI Management: Use KPIs to monitor, maintain, and continuously improve technical standards, exceeding departmental objectives.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships as a trusted advisor on Food Safety, quality, and technical matters.
* Coordinate with other Cluster Leads to align systems and processes, ensuring consistency and compliance.
* Apply financial rigor to Technical activities, optimizing value and managing costs effectively.
* Champion continuous improvement in food safety, legality, and quality.
* Build and nurture relationships with key customers and industry contacts., This role is based in Grimsby but involves travel across the UK and EU, making it perfect for a leader eager to make a real impact in the industry.
Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role in the FMCG industry, where you worked with UK Major retailers in own label and/or branded product supply
* Ideally experienced in seafood processing, with openness to experience in chilled or frozen food manufacturing, particularly coated products.
* Strong knowledge of food safety legislation for manufacturing, packing, and exporting.
* Experienced in leading retailer and third-party certification audits.
