Job summary We are recruiting a Management of Violence and Aggression Advisor to assist in the delivery of training within the service. You will support the senior instructors and PTU manager in the planning, implementation and development of the Managing Aggression & Violence services. We are looking for an experienced healthcare professional who is committed to supporting and delivering training within the trust, using least restrictive practices, and have a understanding of symptoms of distress, to take on the role of Managing Aggression and Violence (MAV) Advisor. We welcome applications from candidates with or without a teaching certificate. Those without a teaching certificate would be recruited as a Band 3 until teaching certificate achieved. Main duties of the job The trainer's objective is to deliver training packages, incorporating theory and practical sessions, inline with the restraint reduction programme. focusing on the primary prevention of violence, de-escalation techniques prior to physical intervention, and the necessity of choosing interventions that are reasonable and proportionate to the assessed risk. Our team is proactive and positive in developing programmes that are dedicated to decreasing incidents that challeng our services by understanding the underlying causes of distress and providing alternative perspectives to prevent future occurrences.
