The Opportunity
This role is working for a highly recognised University in London who have gone through lots of change, and are setting up a People and Change workstream to support.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of HR, this role will be responsible for managing and supporting the integration of the Professional Services Directorates, working with Directors and the Change Support Unit to lead on change initiatives and proposals including structural changes, acting as HR lead for consultations and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Lead and manage the people aspects of the integration process, ensuring that change is executed effectively, and change proposals align with Target Operating Model principles.
* Work closely with the Change Support Unit to develop and deliver the change management strategy, ensuring HR is an integral part of the overall transformation plan.
* Oversee individual and collective consultation processes, working closely with Professional Service Directors and the Change Support Unit to ensure staff concerns are addressed and changes are communicated effectively.
* Provide strategic HR support and guidance to Professional Service Directors on managing the people side of change, including performance management, addressing redundancy, redeployment, and role restructuring.
* Lead formal consultations with trade unions regarding the changes, maintaining strong and productive relationships with trade union representatives, coordinating engagement activities, including meetings, consultation sessions, and updates.
The Successful Candidate
Essential Skills:
* Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing change proposals in accordance with defined principles and parameters preferably within a complex, unionised environment or post-merger integration setting.
* Proven experience in employee relations, leading change and project management activities preferably within a complex, unionised environment or post-merger integration setting.
* Developed understanding of employment legislation and employment practice, with a sound judgement in HR and Employee Relations matters.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with staff at all levels, including trade union representatives, and to present complex information in a clear, accessible way.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to provide practical, legally compliant solutions during periods of organisational change.
