Logistics Services Assistant
Site: Burnley General Teaching Hospital
Grade: Band 2
Hours: 25 hours - working with the post/stores team
Salary: £24,169 pro rata
Main duties of the job
Ensure collection and delivery of goods, food, and waste, including clinical waste, throughout the Trust, following strict policies and standard operating practices. Responsibilities include:
1. Replacing medical gas cylinders and ensuring safe transportation and storage procedures.
2. Performing daily Pharmacy, Pathology, and various other stock/top-up and collection runs, including handling blood and other sample products in sealed containers.
3. Supporting offsite Logistics teams in delivering and collecting from GP’s and clinics in the local area.
It is essential to hold a current UK driving licence; a driver Certificate of Professional Competence and category C1 are advantageous. Successful candidates will participate in a practical assessment and a driving assessment as part of the interview process.

We seek an enthusiastic, physically fit individual capable of moving and handling goods of varying sizes, shapes, and weights. The purpose of our team is to actively support all logistical aspects of our busy Acute Teaching Hospitals and support our NHS colleagues in the community.
Person specification
* Ability to understand, absorb, write, and comply with detailed procedures in English.
* Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points.
* Basic English and Maths skills.
* Able to pass an up-to-date highway code test.
* Proven ability of multi deliveries or collections on a commercial or healthcare basis.
* Previous experience of working with members of the public.
* Driving Licence with C1 & D1.
* Experience of towing a trailer.
* Hold a clean driving licence.
