The role includes but is not limited to the near patient blood testing service utilising point of care measuring devices. Works under direction of the Anticoagulant Protocol.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform near patient testing of all anticoagulant patients in a clinic or domiciliary setting.
2. Maintain anticoagulant kit and equipment, ensuring adequate supplies to carry out the clinic and domiciliary visits.
3. Participate in NEQAS quality assurance scheme and other routine equipment validation.
4. Cover office duties including answering the phone, contacting patients via phone and email, and booking appointments using the DAWN software.
5. Process patient samples and enroll patient data into the laboratory information management system.
6. Work as part of the anticoagulant team and wider team of healthcare professionals, ensuring timely access to data from your interventions with patients.
7. Maintain appropriate clinical and nonclinical records, in line with best practice.
8. Follow national and local guidance regarding anticoagulation management.
9. Participate in surveys and audits to ensure consistently high standards of anticoagulation monitoring care are maintained.

If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £45.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition, it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
