Application engineers are our frontline team members responsible for successful design, implementation, testing, and commissioning of our diverse portfolio of control systems, encompassing hardware and software solutions for a range of end-user industries.
We work with technologies and solutions across the Schneider Electric Industrial Automation portfolio including the Foxboro, Triconex, Modicon, and Aveva (Wonderware) brands.
Following an initial training program into our various technologies, you'll be fast-tracked into our high performing Process Automation Delivery team to make a direct impact on our engineering team. Working as part of our project delivery teams on our varied projects, you will have the opportunity to own and deliver real value to our business both in the UK, offshore, and overseas. This will provide great developmental opportunities through education, exposure, and experience to progress into lead engineers of the future and beyond.
This is an office-based role with some hybrid (home) working available around the demands of the project workload and business and customer requirements. You will be part of the 20+ strong Warrington Process Automation team, fully supported by the full region (100+) delivery organization.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum 2:2 in any STEM degree discipline
* Full UK driving licence
* Flexibility to work occasionally across UK/overseas locations
* Must be eligible to work in the UK
* Passion to excel in the field of Engineering
* Self-motivated, good time management, attention to detail, passion to learn and challenge, and an excellent problem solver
* Two or more years experience in control, hardware, or software in an engineering or development capacity working as part of a project team (ideal)
* Experience with Schneider Electric or other marketplace brands in any related discipline (DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, system design, cyber security) (ideal)
* Experience in one or more of the following areas (ideal):
o Hardware design aspects including system design, component identification, panel layouts, wiring schematics
o Knowledge of inter-system communication methods (e.g., Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, OPC, Profibus, RS232, RS485)
o Working understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, McAfee ePO, Microsoft Hyper-V
o Software design implementation, test, and commission from provided control narratives, logic descriptions, or drawings
o Producing project-related technical documentation (e.g., FDS, FAT, RAMS)
