This role provides remote and flexible working as well as working within the Council Offices, subject to business need.
Description
We are looking for two self-motivated and customer focussed people to join our small but effective team. These are hybrid working roles with a regular requirement for office-based working. We are looking for people who are good team players but also confident working on their own.
Some experience of working at a senior level within a Revenues and Benefits environment is desirable; however, good communication skills and an analytical mind are also a necessity. Ideally, you will have experience of working with the Capita Revenues and Benefits system. These are newly created roles within our team, and we are looking for one person with a sound Council Tax knowledge and one with good knowledge of Benefits to support our team leaders and team, some of whom work generically across a range of areas.
About this role
Duties include:
* Responding to a broad range of customer and staff enquiries within your area of expertise; acting as a point of escalation, resolving queries and providing legislative, procedural and system support.
* Reviewing officer decisions.
* Representing the Authority at designated external meetings/events e.g., Appeals, Valuation tribunals, and Magistrates Court.
* Acting as a service representative in designated forums e.g., Safeguarding, Health and Safety.
* Supporting the team leader with staff supervision and performance management activities.
