Location: Lockleaze Sports Centre, Bristol
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 per week
Salary: £29,000 to £34,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

With state-of-the-art facilities and a passion for inclusive access to sport, we serve a diverse range of users – from grassroots clubs to elite athletes, schools, and local residents.
The Role
We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Sports Business Development Manager to drive growth and maximise the commercial potential of Lockleaze Sports Centre. This is a key strategic role that combines business acumen with a passion for community sport. You'll lead on developing partnerships, increasing revenue streams, and creating new opportunities that enhance our impact and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a business development strategy aligned with our mission and growth targets.
* Identify and secure new business opportunities including partnerships, sponsorships, facility hire, and events.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clubs, schools, businesses, and local authorities.
* Lead on bids and funding applications to support new projects.
* Oversee commercial operations including pricing, marketing, and customer experience.
* Collaborate with the operational team to ensure services meet the needs of the community and partners.
* Monitor financial performance and produce regular reports for the Senior Leadership Team
* Line manage Sports Coordinators and Assistants.
* Various centre duty manager responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven track record in business development, preferably within sport, leisure, or community-focused organisations.
* Strong understanding of commercial strategy, income generation, and stakeholder management.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to lead projects and work independently to achieve KPIs.
* Passionate about sport, community impact, and social enterprise.
Desirable
* Knowledge of the local sports and community landscape in Bristol.
* Experience in writing funding bids and securing sponsorships.
* Familiarity with facility management and programming.
* Experience of working within the sport community and/ or charity sector
* Planning and delivering sport events, festivals or tournaments
