Job overview
We are recruiting for our new, purpose-built hospital within the site at Royal Sussex County Hospital! The new ‘Louisa Martindale’ building provides spacious, well-resourced and modern facilities for patients and staff across all 40 wards and departments.
As part of this development, we have the opportunity to expand our team, recruiting into these brand-new roles.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Senior Imaging Clinical support workers to join our dynamic and friendly team in the Imaging Department.
The successful candidates will be working alongside radiographers and radiologists to ensure the smooth running of the department.
We are looking for hardworking individuals who are both flexible and versatile. You will be a team player, have a positive attitude and be able to work under pressure in challenging conditions. You must have the ability to work with patients for sensitive imaging examinations.
Previous healthcare experience is essential, but we will provide support and training to carry out your duties within the Imaging specialities.
Main duties of the job
* Coordinate the workflow in specific Imaging areas.
* Assist radiographers in the preparation of patients and equipment for imaging examinations.
* Ensure pre-examination checks and information are available.
* Liaise with wards and porters.
* Assist with patient transfers and the orientation of patients around the department.
* Perform caring activities for the patients ensuring patients' needs and privacy and dignity are met.

* Actively participate as a member of the Imaging Department team and contribute towards the smooth and efficient running of the Department.
* This is a dynamic, evolving role which will include coordinating the workflow within Imaging modalities.
* Assist radiographers with patient flow, preparing and positioning equipment.
* Assist radiographers and radiologists with the positioning of patients for imaging examinations.
* Assist with patient transfers to and from the wards when required.
* Ensure provision of the highest standards of care.
* Perform administrative and clerical duties across the department as required.
* Work 37.5 hours, to include evening and weekend working.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education to include Maths and English GCSE at grades 4 and above or equivalent. Level 3 Educational Qualifications.
* Care certificate.
Experience
* Extensive previous health care work experience.
* Experience of working in an Imaging Department or demonstrates knowledge of work of Imaging Department.
Skills
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Describes examples of team work and organisational skills.
Knowledge
* Indicates knowledge of the work of an Imaging Department.
* Has visited / contacted the department to discuss the role.
