Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher ST6+/Senior Post CCT) in Head & Neck Surgery, Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery within ENT from 01 October 2025 to 06 October 2026.
Main duties of the job
The duties of this post include management of Benign and Malignant Head and Neck Pathology under the supervision of four Surgeons. Cambridge University Hospitals is a regional and tertiary referral centre and runs a busy Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Unit. All aspects of Head and Neck surgery are performed in the Unit and there is close collaboration with the Neurosurgical team for the management of craniofacial pathology.
In order to be considered, applicants must be senior trainees, either Post CCT or in the final years of training. Applicants will be expected to have had basic training in Head & Neck Surgery. Other essential criteria include FRCS (ORL) and evidence of participation in research.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at the time of application is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This fellowship will provide specialist training in all facets of Head and Neck surgery, including thyroid and parathyroid surgery and exposure to TORS. The Unit runs an active research programme and the Fellow will be invited to participate in this. The Fellow will be expected to take part in the Middle Grade on-call rota.
Candidates applying from overseas should have equivalent experience in ENT and hold an exit ENT qualification.
