Sirona Care & Health is looking for an experienced and compassionate Band 6 Autism Assessment Practitioner to join our Children's Autism Assessment Service. This part-time position is 22.5 hours per week and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the diagnostic assessment of children and young people aged 2.4 to 18 years across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG).
You will be part of a small clinical team, delivering specialist diagnostic autism assessments for children and young people on the Autism Assessment waiting list. Your role will involve gathering and analysing information, conducting direct observations, and completing assessments primarily in school settings, with some clinical appointments in clinics and health hubs. You will also provide clear, timely feedback to schools, families, and young people about the outcomes of the assessments, both verbally and in written reports.
As part of a streamlined clinical model, you will focus on school-aged children with less complex presentations, working closely with other agencies such as education and social services when further assessment is needed. This role requires effective teamwork, professional supervision, and engagement with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.

4. To identify when further assessment is required in order to complete the child or young person's assessment.
5. To work in a small clinical team, seeking supervision and engaging in liaison with other agencies (e.g. education, social services) and professional groups as required.
