About the role: EXHEAT is a globally renowned designer and manufacturer of electric process heating and control systems. Extensively experienced in the design of electric heaters for use in hazardous area locations, our complete range of custom-engineered process and immersion heaters, together with our standard product portfolio which incorporates immersion heaters, room heaters and thermostats have extensive IECEx, ATEX and CSA certification amongst others. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a technical sales team of a global company, producing engineered process heating and control systems for a worldwide market. Through on the job training you will gain the skills required for the effective preparation of tenders, interpreting client specifications and queries with a view to converting those tenders to purchase orders. On order conversion you will work with the project management team to effectively handover information for manufacture of the equipment sold. Duties: Learn to interpret client’s enquiry documents, to then prepare conceptual designs and draft formal technical and commercial tenders. Assist with ongoing technical clarifications, requested by the client, throughout the life of the tenders. Obtain sub-vendor compliant quotations for bought out items. Formulate accurate cost build-ups based upon international standards and project specifications such as schematics, single line diagrams and operator standards. Prepare and review accurate contract handover files for the Design office. Review technical and some commercial content of Purchase Orders. Update EXHEAT database systems based on communications and feedback received. Raise contract review on sales orders received. Skills & Responsibilities: The position requires a multidiscipline engineering approach covering electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and process calculations regularly. The successful candidate will have the necessary attitude to be able to adapt across the disciplines to be able to formulate tenders to be upskilled sufficiently to clear client queries accordingly. It will ultimately be a customer facing role to deal with clarifications, so along with the engineering mindset, a bright customer focus is needed. A keen interest in maths or a science along with a positive demeanour with customers is the perfect grounding to become a rounded Proposals Engineer. The skill set for designing heaters and control systems can be developed from the training provided. The Employee shall devote their whole time, attention and skill to their duties hereunder and in addition such other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required of them for the proper and efficient running of the Employer’s business.
