Job overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate band 6 Diabetes Support Nurse to join our dynamic team. The Diabetes Support Nurse will play a crucial role in providing specialised care to patients with diabetes, ensuring they receive high standards of treatment to effectively manage their condition.
Main duties of the job
1. To support the work of the Diabetes team to provide clinical support and expertise to Diabetic in-patients within the Trust and outpatient departments.
2. To provide a high standard of nursing care and to develop existing specialist Diabetes knowledge and skills.
3. To act as a Diabetes nursing resource giving advice and psychological support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
4. To review nursing practice and support the implementation of appropriate changes based on research/best practice.
5. To assist with the development and implementation of audit, quality and Risk Management initiatives.
6. To contribute to the 7 day Diabetes Inpatient service.
