ABOUT BBC CASUALTY

Casualty is a multi-award-winning drama series about the staff and patients at the Holby City Emergency Department, charting the ups and downs in their personal and professional lives whilst tackling many controversial and taboo issues.

The Casualty Editorial Team are at the heart of the drama offscreen! They work extremely hard in a busy environment to help bring the scripts to life.
THE SCRIPT COORDINATOR
Reporting to the Script Producer, the successful candidate will be pro-active in using their attention to detail and accuracy to ensure that all draft and amends, final scripts, front pages, synopses and billings, are accurately typed and distributed to the correct members of production and cast in a timely manner, whilst also providing secretarial support to the Script Producer and Script Editors and general support to the Casualty Script department.
This role is at the heart of the team and the first point of contact for our writers and cast, ensuring that all correspondence and phone calls are handled promptly and with care, taking accurate messages whilst handling the general programme correspondence.
The role requires excellent organisational skills in order to maintain a comprehensive filing system, the shows bible and our writers contact details. As well as arrange all meetings, to include editorial and catch-ups, story conference, and planning and commissioning.
Within your arranging, you will need to collate and arrange all travel and accommodation required for the team and our external stakeholders.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following;
1. Experience in a secretarial, administrative or runner support role in TV, Film, Theatre or Radio
2. Experience of organising and attending meetings to include travel, hospitality, minute taking and diary management
3. Experience of establishing and maintaining office and administration systems, with an understanding of Office and Information Technology, including Windows 10/11 and Final Draft
4. A full understanding of GDPR and the handling of highly confidential and commercially sensitive information with tact and sensitivity
5. Excellent typing skills, with a sound command of English with the ability to format the layout of paperwork appropriately with good attention to detail
6. Knowledge and passion for Continuing Drama, especially Casualty
7. A passion for scripts and editorial

Band: A
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
Contract Length: 12 Months FTC / Attachment
