We are seeking two enthusiastic, self-motivated Community Safety Support Officers to work within the Community Safety Team.
The focus of this role is to work with partners to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and improve confidence in neighbourhoods.
The role will involve a lot of walking/patrolling to engage with businesses, partners, and residents and become a trusted part of the community.
You will heavily support the reduction of anti-social behaviour, reporting incidents, and engaging with communities, stakeholders, and other partners to assist in tackling problem areas. You will also facilitate and/or participate in local projects and community partnerships to support the priorities of Safe Newcastle.
You should have a good understanding of the types of issues that affect neighbourhoods as well as a sound knowledge of crime and anti-social behaviour and techniques to tackle issues.
Communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role. Ideally, the candidate will have experience or a good knowledge of community consultation and engagement techniques. You should be competent in using IT systems.
It is essential that you have a willingness to occasionally work out of standard hours.
