Rhyd y Grug is a successful, highly respected Welsh medium school located in the village of Aberfan, Merthyr Tydfil.
We are a friendly, inclusive school with high aspirations for all our pupils. We are proud of our enthusiasm for the Welsh language.
The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a talented individual to work alongside the Headteacher to lead a team of dedicated and motivated staff, who will be fully committed to maintaining and building on the strengths of our happy and successful school.
We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who will:
• bring a wealth of experience as an excellent classroom practitioner
• share in our ethos that education is a partnership between pupils, school staff and parents
• prioritise the welfare of children and staff at the centre of all development and action
• demonstrate excellent senior leadership and management experience with clear examples of their impact at whole school level
• bring creativity and innovation to the development of the school
• demonstrate an excellent understanding of curriculum design and reform
• strongly committed to working closely with governors, parents and the wider community
• ensure that our ethos of 'Grow, Learn, Succeed' is maintained in all activities
The closing date for applications is 12th April 2024
Shortlisting will take place on 25th April, with lesson observations the following week and the interviews will be carried out over two days on 9th and 10th May 2024. Candidates will be informed at the end of Day 1 if they are to proceed to Day 2.
