Job summary There are two Band 7 Specialist Pharmacist Roles advertised here at Weston General Hospital, within UHBW for; Specialist Medicines Pharmacist Specialist Surgical Pharmacist Main duties of the job Maintain and develop clinical pharmacy services to the Medical and Surgical Divisions including outpatients, front door and other medical wards at Weston General Hospital. Liaise with the relevant senior pharmacy, medical and nursing staff so as to promote safe and effective use of medicines within the Medical and Surgical divisions. Provide information and support to the Medical and Surgical Divisions on drug usage and expenditure and work with senior clinicians in the directorate to maximise clinical effectiveness of medicines used and minimise cost. Develop, with senior clinicians in the directorate, a robust medicines related audit programme. Participate in the training of pharmacists, trainee pharmacists, undergraduate pharmacists and other pharmacy and NHS staff. There is a potential for these roles to be rotated between if suitable for the candidates.
