Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
This is a very varied role and involves working on:
* food processing equipment (pressure cooking vessels, mixers, pastry laminators, pie machines, ovens, automated packing lines etc.)
* responsible for the building fabric, including facilities and site services (refrigeration, steam boilers, air compressors, hot and cold-water systems)
* carry out repairs (reactive works) and preventive maintenance
* also involved with the installation of new equipment and project improvement work. This includes modifications to optimise performance, improve efficiency and methods of operation, increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime
