A fast-growing plant-based food company is looking to recruit an ambitious and skilled National Account Manager to drive strategic growth plans and play a key role in launching exciting new products with their largest UK retail partner. This is an exciting opportunity in one of the fastest growing food categories in the UK market, and the road ahead is rich with opportunities. The job holder will be based in modern offices near Chester with some home / remote working.
About the role
Reporting to the UK Head of Commercial and Sales, this will be a high-profile role that is as varied as it is challenging, and thus you will have responsibility for leading and executing the strategic category plan for their biggest retail partner. You will work collaboratively with the business, immersing yourself in the range review process to successfully launch innovative plant-based products and drive sales / profit targets via the development of the trade and promotional plan. You will also be heavily involved in NPD projects, negotiating pricing as well as managing promotions, new line forms, forecasting and using category / market insights to deliver an outstanding product proposition.
About the Person
To be considered for this unique and challenging role, you will need to have a proven track record of success in a retail facing National Account Management or Category Management role in the food industry. Alternatively, we will also consider retail Buyers who are looking to flex their skills in broad, commercial supply-side environment. Whilst it would be desirable if you have experience in a frozen food category and understood the vegan and vegetarian market, this is not essential. However, it is crucial that you will be ‘plant-based friendly’. You will also possess strong commercial acumen as this role is a mix of National Account Management, Buying, Category Management, Product Development and Sales. You will have a collaborative working style, and be a confident communicator with ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll get in return:
For the successful applicant, you will be given the opportunity to earn a competitive basic salary depending on experience, in a truly purpose led organisation dedicated to redefining their market globally through producing products that lead to a truly sustainable food chain.
What to do now:
If you believe you have the background, skills and experience outlined above, and are ready for a new challenge where you can make a genuine difference, please apply now with an up-to-date copy of your CV.
