Full time hrs on a temporary basis
Role Purpose: Lead and manage the Developing Highways team, facilitating economic growth on the highway network, ensuring best value, and maximizing opportunities to enhance highway infrastructure while supporting community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as the senior officer within the Developing Highways team, managing development sites through S38, S278, and S106 agreements.
2. Lead large-scale projects and developments from a highway perspective to support the council’s economic growth strategy.
3. Manage commissioning contracts for a range of services within the Developing Highways team.
4. Generate and manage your own workload, leading on various proposals and projects, and providing strategic advice to senior management.
5. Support the Planning and Development Services Manager in delivering a development management service that aligns with the council’s objectives.
6. Be responsible for health and safety, training, and development in coordination with the Planning and Development Services Manager.
7. Lead and contribute to projects, building relationships with internal and external partners to achieve specified outcomes.
8. Account for the performance and resource utilization within a defined part of the service area, ensuring delivery of key outcomes for local people by building and maintaining an effective team.
Requirements:
1. Extensive experience in highway development control and management.
2. Sound understanding of S38, S278, and S106 agreements and their implications on highway development.
3. Strong project leadership skills with the ability to manage large-scale highway projects.
