Senior Buyer
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to manage procurement processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role involves sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and ensuring an efficient supply chain to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the purchasing process, ensuring timely sourcing and delivery of materials to meet production needs.

Oversee supply chain activities, including planning, sourcing, manufacturing, and delivery.
*
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to negotiate favourable terms and pricing.
*
Identify and resolve supply chain challenges efficiently.
*
Address quality issues with suppliers and ensure timely resolution of rejected deliveries.
*
Coordinate with freight forwarders to maintain shipment schedules and prevent disruptions.
*
Implement and manage procurement strategies to optimise costs and improve efficiency.
*
Work closely with warehouse, quality, and planning teams to streamline operations.
*
Use manufacturing software systems to track and manage procurement processes.
*
Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and supplier improvements.
*
Track stock levels of high-demand materials and assist in planning procurement schedules.
*
Support the Purchasing Manager in identifying and mitigating potential supply chain risks.
*
Provide administrative support to the Purchasing and Planning team as required.
*
Assess supplier performance and hold regular meetings to improve collaboration and efficiency.
Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a manufacturing environment.
*
CIPS qualification (completed or in progress) or equivalent purchasing certification.
*
Experience working with ERP systems for procurement and supply chain management.
*
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
*
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
*
Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
*
Strong communication skills with the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
*
Confident in handling difficult supplier discussions while maintaining professionalism.
