Part time Duty Manager at our state-of-the-art Sports Centre. Responsibilities include managing lifeguards, setting up equipment, supervising activity areas, and overseeing the operation of the building.
Full time equivalent annual salary circa £25,400 (£11,100 pro-rata for part time hours), depending on experience, plus benefits including a generous contributory pension scheme and life assurance.
We are looking for a part time Duty Manager to join the team at our state-of-the-art Sports Centre. Facilities comprise a 25m pool, endless pool, sports hall, fitness suite, studio, climbing wall, and classrooms. In addition to school-related activities, the centre accommodates external swimming, netball, and triathlon clubs, with staff and local residents also using the facilities. Responsibilities include managing lifeguards, setting up equipment, supervising activity areas, overseeing the operation of the building including health & safety protocols, and occasionally deputising for the Sports Centre Manager.
With a keen interest in sports and leisure, the ideal candidate will be a good swimmer, self-motivated with excellent customer service skills, able to lead a team and work on their own initiative. Previous experience working in a sports centre environment is desirable; however, training will be provided. The successful applicant will be required to undertake and gain a First Aid at Work Certificate and a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Hours are 16.5 per week to be worked 5pm to 10pm on Tuesdays, 5pm to 10pm on Thursdays, and 9.30am to 4.30pm on Saturdays. Additional hours may be available to cover for staff absences, including daytime and additional evening and weekend hours.
