Then our weight management service is the place for you. We are looking for a Band 7 Highly Specialist Dietitian.
You will support the professional manager in improving the Level 2 and 3 services and provide clinical input for level 3 and triaging. You will support others in their delivery of the Level 2 service.
There will be leadership opportunities to take part in the operational management and supervision of staff within the team.
You will have the support of a professional manager and be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering an innovative service in line with the All Wales Weight Management Pathway.
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience of leading and evaluating service development and improvement, collaborative working and possess expert knowledge of weight management.
We have 0.8 WTE/30 hours available and will consider flexible working arrangements to help you to achieve a good work-life balance. There will also be an opportunity for some working from home.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
* To demonstrate clinical effectiveness by the use of evidence based outcomes.
* Lead on specific clinical audit/research projects within weight management.
* To provide leadership for new/less experienced staff, support staff and contribute to their development, as a delegated supervisor.
* To develop departmental policy and participate in national policy development as required.
* Act as a source of expertise to other colleagues working within and outside CTMUHB.
* Educate and train dietetic students, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
* Work autonomously to provide expert clinical and ethical advice to clients, and head of dietetic service/ deputy heads of service.
* Interpret national and professional clinical guidelines and policies and work with the head of service/deputy heads of service to develop clinically appropriate standards.

Person SpecificationQualifications and/or KnowledgeEssential
* BSc, Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent dietetic qualification
* Registered with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Evidence of post-graduate study or ongoing CPD in relevant specialism
* Detailed specialist clinical dietetic knowledge in weight management
Desirable
* Clinical Educators Course or Advanced Clinical Educators Course
ExperienceEssential
* Clinical experience in specialist dietetics at a senior level
* Experience of working as part of a clinical team to deliver patient and organisational objectives
* Experience of conducting clinical audit and or research
* Experience of clinical supervision of students and junior colleagues
Desirable
* Experience in operational Management/Leadership.
Aptitude and Abilities SkillsEssential
* Presentation skills and ability to work effectively single handed with individuals and groups over 20 people
* Skills in influencing and persuasion on specialist clinical issues with a wide range of staff and internal and external to the Health Board.
