Tunbridge Wells Theatres are looking for a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated individual to work within our Theatre Department as a Band 3 Senior Theatre Support Worker!
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years theatre experience and will have the knowledge and skills to provide care and assistance throughout the patients' perioperative journey. You will be an important part of the multi-disciplinary team, bringing patients to theatres, checking documentation, and applying monitoring in the anaesthetic room. Inside theatre you will assist the scrub team, clean after each surgery, and ensure that the stock is kept topped-up. There will also be portering duties, taking patients on beds and trolleys to and from the wards.
As a senior, you will be allocated an area of responsibility and will be heavily involved with training new staff.
Main duties of the job
You must possess good communication skills and be highly motivated. Your rota will include day shifts, long days, weekends and nights.
Tunbridge Wells at Pembury Hospital is the Trust 'Hot site' and runs both an elective and emergency service. It comprises of 11 theatres covering a wide range of specialties: ENT, Gynaecology, Upper and Lower GI, Bariatrics, Paediatric Orthopaedics and Opthalmics, as well as CEPOD, Trauma and Obstetrics.

All successful applicants will be required to complete our corporate trust induction once a start date has been agreed.
Following your Corporate Induction, you will be expected to attend the Trust's Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the CSW Induction Programme Lead if this is going to be problematic: rallen@nhs.net), lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes 2 supernumerary shifts in the clinical area (an early and a late shift), all of the other days are classroom-based and run from 9am to 5pm.
