Job summary – What to expect:
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the leadership of key Global Supply Chain projects within CooperVision, overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of projects from initiation through to completion.
In this role, you will be responsible for the leadership, planning, implementation, and tracking of complex multi-site / multi-function projects collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders at all levels, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
The Senior Project Manager will demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, strong leadership skills, and exceptional organizational abilities.
As a medical device manufacturer CooperVision operates in highly regulated environment where the Senior Project Manager will ensure project delivery in line with all applicable regulatory requirements.
About you:
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
1. Project Leadership: Provide project leadership throughout the duration of the project lifecycle, supporting, coaching, and influencing the project team, stakeholders and steering committees as required.
2. Business Acumen: Understand financial, strategic, and operational aspects of the business to support sound decision making and drive successful outcomes for the organization.
3. Project Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
4. Project Governance: Follow the GSC Project methodology and frameworks, championing this process with the project team, stakeholders, and sponsors.
5. Team Coordination: Establish, lead, and motivate cross-functional and geographically dispersed project teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
6. Resource Allocation: Identify, secure, and allocate necessary resources and manage project budgets.
7. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and deliverables, escalating to leadership teams as required.
8. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, conducting regular reviews and assessments to ensure project goals and business objectives are met.
9. Regulatory Compliance: Work with Regulatory and Quality partners to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as local and global standards and regulations.
10. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, addressing concerns, and managing expectations.
11. Performance Tracking: Monitor project progress using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
12. Continuous Improvement: Implement lessons learned and best practices from previous projects to improve processes and performance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
13. A solid understanding of Project Management best practice (PMI / APM).
14. Experience of leading geographically dispersed, diverse, multicultural project teams.
15. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
16. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project.
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
18. Excellent time management and organization skills.
19. A high level of business acumen.
20. Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
21. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
22. Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative, and heavily matrixed organization.
23. Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical devices including UDI, MDR, etc.
24. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems.
Work Environment:
25. Normal office environment.
26. Ability to perform light to medium physical work and standing for long periods of time, if required depending on the task.
27. Extensive contact with employees and external business partners and vendors.
Experience and Education
28. 5 + years’ experience required in a Project Management role, managing complex projects from initiation to closure.
29. Working in the medical device industry or a heavily regulated industry strongly preferred.
30. Prior experience in Supply Chain roles.
31. Experience in change management.
32. Experience with product labeling and regulatory requirements for medical devices.
33. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or 10+ years of proven experience in a project management role required.
34. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
