Job summary We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly practice. The role is rewarding and varied, it will suit someone who is enthusiastic, motivated and a good team player. You will have experience and confidence in managing patients face to face and have good organisational and communication skills. Our ideal candidate will hold a NVQ level 3/QCF level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support or equivalent and have experience of working in Primary Care/Secondary Care or the Community. This HCA role within the Practice is developing and therefore a willingness to learn and a flexible approach is essential. Main duties of the job New patient health checks ECG recording - routine Phlebotomy Chaperoning duties Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses Maintenance of surgical equipment Vaccine cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Clearing and re stocking consulting rooms Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being Blood pressure checks Minor dressings About us We are a thriving surgery in a semi rural town of Newport in the beautiful Shropshire countryside with an easy commute to Shrewsbury, Telford, Wolverhampton and Birmingham.
