You will provide professional clinical leadership and will have responsibility for the effective and efficient nursing management of the department.
Playing a pivotal role in the department you will oversee the delivery of high quality care, supporting service improvement and monitoring standards within the ED.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide team and shift-based management, coordinating the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
2. To utilise specialist clinical knowledge of emergency nursing to provide professional leadership and ensure safe, effective and expedient patient care.
3. To support the management of the ED access target and to ensure that the multidisciplinary team is supported to fully participate in the achievements of those targets.
4. To ensure the constraints that inhibit the achievement of the targets are clearly documented and reported within the trust to those who have corporate responsibility.
5. To provide clinical nursing leadership and expertise in the care of all patients and create an environment that values and supports staff to reach their full potential.
6. Demonstrate a strong commitment to improving patient care through professional and clinical development.
7. To act as a bronze level manager in the event of a major or other incident.
